Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government has made a big announcement of building 8 new expressways. The first name among the new expressways to be built in UP is Chitrakoot Link Expressway.
The length of this expressway will be 120 kilometers. This expressway will connect Chitrakoot to Varanasi and Banda districts. The construction of this Link Expressway will strengthen the road connectivity to Chitrakoot Dham.
According to the report, this project has been approved in July 2025 and the work on the expressway is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Chitrakoot Link Expressway
Following the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, another new expressway will be built in Uttar Pradesh, connecting Jalaun district to the Bundelkhand Expressway. This expressway, which will be built along National Highway 27, will be approximately 115 kilometers long.
Currently, this expressway will be four-lane, but there is a possibility of expanding it to six lanes in the future. According to reports, land will be purchased from approximately 63 villages to build this expressway. This will significantly increase land prices and industrial activity here.
Vindhya Expressway
Of the eight expressways being built in Uttar Pradesh, the Vindhya Expressway will be the longest. The expressway will be 320 kilometers long. Starting from Prayagraj, it will reach Sonbhadra via Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Chandauli.
This expressway will significantly ease travel. The government has allocated a budget of ₹23,000 crore for the expressway's construction. According to reports, the expressway will be completed in the next two to three years.
Vindhya Purvanchal Link Expressway
It should be noted that a 100-kilometer Vindhya Purvanchal Link Expressway will be built to connect the Vindhya and Purvanchal regions of Uttar Pradesh. The expressway's construction will strengthen road connectivity in Uttar Pradesh.
This corridor will promote economic development as well as tourism. The link expressway will connect the Vindhya Expressway near Chandauli with the Purvanchal Expressway at Jagirpur. Reports suggest that ₹7,000 crore will be spent on this expressway.
New Link Expressway
A new 90-kilometer link expressway will be built to connect the Agra Expressway with the Ganga Expressway. A budget of ₹900 crore has been set aside for this expressway.
Construction on the link expressway is expected to begin by the end of 2025. The project is estimated to cost approximately ₹7,488 crore.
Chitrakoot Rewa-Link Expressway
The Uttar Pradesh government is building the Chitrakoot Rewa-Link Expressway to directly connect the state with Madhya Pradesh. This link expressway will be 70 kilometers long. This expressway will directly connect with the Bundelkhand Expressway.
Jewar Link Expressway
The Jewar Link Expressway will be the most significant of the eight new proposed expressways to be built in Uttar Pradesh. The Yamuna Expressway will connect to the airport being built in Jewar.
The government has approved the budget for the Jewar Link Expressway. Construction on this expressway is expected to begin by the end of 2025. The Yamuna Expressway and the Ganga Expressway will be connected to Jewar Airport via Bundelkhand City.
