Stock market fills the coffers of big companies, 8 companies made a profit of 2 lakh crores
Data shows that the market cap of the country's top eight companies increased by ₹2,05,185.08 crore. Bharti Airtel was the biggest gainer, followed by Reliance Industries. Both saw their valuations increase by ₹55,000 crore.
Last week proved quite beneficial for the stock market. While the Sensex and Nifty saw gains of more than 1.5 percent, the valuations of the country's leading companies also increased.
Data shows that the market cap of the country's top eight companies increased by ₹2,05,185.08 crore. Bharti Airtel was the biggest gainer, followed by Reliance Industries. Both saw their valuations increase by ₹55,000 crore.
This means that out of the eight companies, the valuations of just two companies increased by ₹1.10 lakh crore. While the market caps of the remaining companies increased by more than ₹90,000 crore.

- The market capitalization of Bharti Airtel, one of the country's largest telecom companies, increased by Rs 55,652.54 crore to Rs 11,96,700.84 crore.
- The market valuation of the country's largest company Reliance Industries Limited increased by Rs 54,941.84 crore to Rs 20,55,379.61 crore.
- The market capitalization of the country's largest IT company Tata Consultancy Services increased by Rs 40,757.75 crore to Rs 11,23,416.17 crore.
- The market capitalisation of the country's second largest private lender ICICI Bank increased by Rs 20,834.35 crore to Rs 9,80,374.43 crore.
- The market valuation of the country's largest public sector lender State Bank of India increased by Rs 10,522.9 crore to Rs 8,92,923.79 crore.
- The market capitalization of Infosys, one of the country's largest IT companies, increased by Rs 10,448.32 crore to Rs 6,24,198.80 crore.
- The market capitalisation of the country's largest private lender HDFC Bank increased by Rs 9,149.13 crore to Rs 15,20,524.34 crore.
- On the other hand, the market capitalization of the country's largest FMCG company Hindustan Unilever increased by Rs 2,878.25 crore to Rs 5,70,187.06 crore.
- The market capitalisation of the country's largest FMCG company Bajaj Finance declined by Rs 30,147.94 crore to Rs 6,33,573.38 crore.
- The market valuation of the country's largest insurance company, Life Insurance Corporation of India, declined by Rs 9,266.12 crore to Rs 5,75,100.42 crore.
How was the stock market last week?
Last week, the BSE Sensex gained 1,346.5 points, or 1.62 percent, and the NSE Nifty gained 417.75 points, or 1.64 percent. After recent weakness, markets rebounded strongly during the week and finally closed in the green.
Reliance Industries remained the most valuable company, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Life Insurance Corporation of India, and Hindustan Unilever.
