Condoms, sleep or food… what do Delhiites order the most at night?
Instamart's report shows that in Delhi, people are now ordering gold, expensive phones, snacks and even condoms online at night, due to which the shopping trend is changing rapidly.
Life in Delhi has become not only fast but also smart. In a city where online ordering was once limited to everyday essentials, people are now ordering gold, expensive mobile phones, and even premium food delivered to their homes.
Instamart's annual report shows that Delhi-NCR has become a hub of quick commerce, where even large and expensive purchases are completed within minutes.
According to the report, Delhiites purchased 24-carat gold coins in large numbers this year. One in four gold coin orders came from Delhi-NCR.
This clearly indicates that people are now relying on mobile apps to buy gold instead of visiting jewelry showrooms. Whether for festivals or investments, gold has now become a popular choice for instant delivery.
Increasing demand for condoms and health products
People in Delhi are becoming more open and discerning about their personal needs. Demand for sexual wellness, healthcare, and personal tech accessories is steadily increasing. Meanwhile, a statistic from Chennai has caught everyone's attention: one user ordered condoms worth over ₹100,000 in an entire year.
The demand for iPhone
The purchase of expensive electronic goods has also increased rapidly in Delhi. The report also revealed a case where a customer ordered 28 iPhones in a single order, costing over ₹20 lakh.
This shows that people in Delhi are no longer hesitant to spend large sums of money if the convenience is delivered to their doorstep.
Delhiites are fond of food and drink.
Delhi has always been known for its love of food, and this trend is evident on online platforms as well. Demand for premium chocolates, bakery items, frozen snacks, and instant noodles has surged.
Notably, there's a strong craze for Korean cuisine among Delhiites. Items like hot chicken ramen have gained a special following among the youth.
Shopping timings
In Delhi, orders are highest between 10 and 11 pm. People prefer to order items like chips, soft drinks, and packaged water during this time.
This means that late-night snacking during work, study, or entertainment has become a habit among Delhiites.
